Application:
Tool Steel ASTMA3 is for making Cutting operations, embossing dies, cutting, punching, stamping, bending tools, shear blades, moulds for plastic processing
Heat treatment:
Hardness :Annealed(+A) max: 229 BHN
Tool steel A3 when heat-treatment the preheat Temperature need reach 788°C, and the temperature may be ± 14 °C .
Tool steel A3 when austenitizing ,should keep 5-15 minutes long. If is the salt bath ,temperature should keep in the 968 °C, and shall be ± 5.6 °C. Or is the controlled atmosphere furnaces, temperature should keep in the 982 °C, and shall be ± 5.6 °C.
Quenching: Tool steel A3 Hardening quenching using air cooling, and it's hardness min is 63 RC.
Tempering: Tool steel A3 general tempering temperature is 204°C. Double tempering of Double tempering of tool steel A3 is recommended.
